Well its official.. school is in session here at the Crowe’s Nest! Our little man started second grade yesterday and our girl heads to Kindergarten tomorrow! Where has the time gone!? Both over the years and this summer.. it flew by!
I know we start back earlier than others, so I wanted to share something fun we started this year in prep for heading back to the books so you guys can use the idea in your homes in the upcoming weeks!
In an effort to get into routine around here (and get our son reading to us nightly,) I thought we could get some new books for our nighttime reading together. Lucky for me, a sweet friend and fellow Sigma Kappa sister just recently started her Usborne Books business. I know you’ve probably seen Usborne circulating around social media; and if you’re like me, you’ve gotten several invites to parties recently too.
We absolutely adore these Shine-A-Light books! They’re the perfect mix of fun & education and our dude loved The Human Body themed book.. he got to learn more about the human body and how it works and he really enjoyed shining the flashlight behind each page to uncover what’s inside. These are a great way to get your kids learning and asking questions too!
Our little guy LOVES to read! So, we’ve started a chapter a night in this adorable illustrated children’s Bible and I love how our girl just watches him in adoration as he reads to us. It’s definitely a special way to end our days together as a family and take a step back from the hustle and bustle of our days.
For those of you who haven’t headed back to school yet.. the books make a perfect back-to-school treat for your kiddos! WE gave them to our kids the night before they started school and we started chapter one in our bible together. It’s a fun way to get them excited about going back and a sweet way to start a family tradition. I think we’ll gift them with new books every year now too!
If you’re interested in checking out Usborne Books, definite go check out Aly’s website. She can do online parties too.. it’s a great way to earn free books! In fact, I wanted to stock up on books for Christmas and birthday gifts this year, so I’m hosting an online party with her next week – – if you’re interested in checking them out, you can also start shopping anytime via THIS LINK.
If you’re not interested in shopping, no worries – – but, still check them out! There are so many unique and different books any child would love to have added to their library!
IF you see any you love, grab a few and start your own traditions to spend quality time with your family! I know it sounds so “perfect world,” but we have been loving reading together every night.. and it helps our son meet his reading requirements at school, too!
(Also, I wasn’t paid for this, I wasn’t given anything for free. We just really love what Usborne has to offer and I wanted to share this fun new tradition for you to pass on to your families!)
I love Usborne books. I feel like if I were to ever do an MLM of any kind it would be with them. The books are so fun and my kids love them. I still need to buy a shine-a-light book.
You totally need a shine a light book!! The Human Body one is so awesome! I actually bought the entire collection for our preschool library.. several of them are perfect additions to the science room!
If you want to join in on Facebook tonight and just check them out, LMK – – I’m happy to add you to the event!
Thats really cool! I’ll tell my bf for his kids!
You should Eugenia! This is one MLM company I can definitely stand behind!
Such a great tradition to read to your kids.
My son LOVES to read, so it’s a great way to for him to get his reading time in for homework too!
These look like super cute books! I’ll have to check them out for our little one 🙂
If you want to check them out from Aly’s site, you can browse my party link 😉 Or if you want to check out what she recommends on Facebook, LMK and I can add you to the event tonight! But, of course no pressure.. I hope you see some you might love for your little one!! The Human Body shine a light book is super cool!
My cousin sells these books and they’re great! I’ve placed quite a few orders for the kiddos in my life.
Glad to hear Jessica! This was my first time ordering and I can’t wait to get some more!!
