Friday night was a nigh to remember! A few weeks ago, I shared about the importance of taking time for your mom friends and cherishing those relationships. Thanks to the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, I had an unforgettable opportunity to host my Lifegroup for a night of worship. And it was maigcal.
MercyMe is a band so close to my heart offering hope and worship to some of my darkest days. A sweet friend in my Lifegroup has also experienced a similar gift from their music with their hit “Even If.” Her daughter was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes just as lead singer Bart Millard’s son was and this song was written for. We were literally brought to tears as he described his experience with this illness and why this song came to be. It’s been such an honor seeing God work in and through Hannah and her diagnosis and to hear this song live was indescribable.
Micah Tyler started the night strong with both laughter and great worship while Crowder kept the whole audience up and singing along to some of his hit songs next. By the time MercyMe came out, we were already so hyped up, it was such an amazing energy. And that energy was felt by everyone in that crowd.
My absolute favorite part of the entire night was when Bart Millard led the band to Amazing Grace. After the first few verses, the whole band walked off stage and let the crowd take over. Hearing 4500 people sing sing along to that song was the most incredible thing to witness! Still watching this now gives me chills!
Every single one of these women shared their gratitude for the evening using words like magical, unforgettable, and powerful. I know God has his hands all in this evening and how the music touched every single one of us in different ways. I cannot thank the Spectrum Center enough for this experience!
If you want to experience this same energy, I truly encourage you to be intentional with your time spent with people you care about and your family. The Imagine Nation Tour is still going strong and you may be able to snag tickets if they’re coming to a city near you!
And for all you Charlotteans reading this; the Spectrum Center has some opportunities coming up to experience a similar night of worship! The TobyMac Hits Deep Tour comes to the Spectrum Center on February 1st and Oprah Winfrey brings her 2020 Vision Tour here on Jan 18th too!
