It’s so easy to get sucked into the madness during the holiday season. Sales, doorbusters, buy one get one free; falling into the trap of buying too much while forgetting the whole gift of the season is to spread love and joy to the people you love. Especially when you have young kids, it’s easy to forget why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. Every year I try to instill fun new traditions and activities to share why we celebrate Christmas with my kids. This year, I found this adorable itty bittys Nativity...

This is a “sponsored post in partnership with BJ’s Wholesale Club. I am a BJ’s Wholesale Club Blogger Ambassador. BJ’s compensated me via a cash payment, gift, or something else of value to write it. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.     Oh sweet, sweet summertime! It’s time for the sun, sand, & sea and all of the fun family times that come with it! Our family will spend hours in the sand and listening the waves crash while...

These final weeks prepping to bring home a new baby are exhausting, stressful, and busy; yet exciting all at the same time! I still can’t believe I’m getting ready to welcome a second daughter into the world, and all things pink and frilly are not any less fun to stock up on than they were the first time around! I’m so excited to be packing up cute little dresses, headbands, and bows in her diaper bag and even more exciting to accessorize in style with a few of my favorites from Itzy Ritzy!   I am in LOVE...

Now that we’re in the final stretch of this pregnancy and I’m really getting ready to introduce our sweet baby girl to the world, I’m starting to have those feelings of guilt I had when I was pregnant with Lavery. I remember the last few nights before she was born staying up crying, because I felt so horrible for our only child, my sweet little man to have some of the attention taken away from him. Everyone told me it was normal to feel and it would go away and they would grow up to be great friends, and while all that...

To say my kids are Disney lovers would be an understatement. But, really? Who doesn’t adore Mickey and all his friends, right!? We were recently asked to host a Disney Side Home Celebration and we were ecstatic to help spread the Disney magic around to our friends! We immediately knew which friends we wanted to share the joy with and this mom got to planning a little low key fun family game night! Our kiddos (6 and 3 1/2) have just recently really gotten into board games, so our family has loved adopting fun fame nights to...

photo by Nicole Mays. I shipped my baby off to Kindergarten last week. Leading up to the day and the first week of seeing him off every morning wasn’t easy for this mom. While he was so completely ready, I definitely was not. Gone are the days of lounging as late as we want, staying up late watching movies and having tickle fights, and having nothing but time throughout the day to do whatever we want. Now starts the days of my sweet little man being more influenced by other adults and friends than he is by me.. and this I struggle...

UPDATE : I wanted to reiterate before you read the full article, this goes beyond comparing this image to a breastfeeding mom. With the way society thrives on sex and the image of being sexual, so many young girls grow up with 1.) unrealistic expectations of how they should look and 2.) that being sexy is put on a pedestal; as a way everyone should be. This is not...

Being a SAHM has it’s up’s and down’s. I love spending time with my kids everyday. I can’t imagine not having them home with me right now during their first and most precious year. But, having two kids at home with me makes one-on-one time hard. I try to take both kids on dates every now and then (although, admittedly I wish it happened a lot more often!) When a friend asked if I wanted to join her and her boys to see The LEGO Movie yesterday, I was excited to surprise LC! He’s going to be five in a few weeks,...

I had a scare today. Like, seriously something that fortunately wasn’t a HUGE deal, but a freaky wake up call nonetheless; and something that is making me WAY more aware of my world on the Internet and why I’m cracking down on my kids privacy on the blog too. When I got a notification that some guy liked a picture on my blog’s Facebook page, my first instinct was – AWESOME! Hey! I got a “like!” Liking pictures is a good way to show your support for pages and your friends.  My excitement quickly changed...

Lavery Elizabeth entered the world at 38 weeks 1 day on July 1, 2011 at 8:55am. Kyle and I woke up bright and early, anxious to meet our baby girl and missing our baby boy at the same time. We arrived at CMC Pineville early in the morning eager to let Lavery’s birth day begin! I was up all night the night before sick to my stomach and just anxious overall. I knew I would miss LC, but I also knew I couldn’t wait to hold my little girl in my arms. We were blessed with some amazing nurses prepping me for surgery and throughout...
