Summer is in full swing and this mom is exhausted trying to keep us busy and come up with fun and creative ways to keep the kids occupied and not absorbed in technology.
We’re big on getting the kids outside, but when I was approached about checking out a brand new outdoor game by Starlux Games, I jumped at the chance. Wizards and Werewolves allows your kids to really immerse themselves into an experience and bring their imagination to life. I couldn’t wait to see my kids really get to use their imagination and have fun with their friends! I immediately thought it seemed similar to the MagiQuest game we played at Great Wolf Lodge last summer, except it allows for even more imaginative play!
After nine years teaching high school and watching kids become more and more disengaged with their surroundings and each other, Judd King came up with the idea for Starlux Games: “I wanted to create something that I would have loved as a kid—but also something that would be so incredibly engaging and dynamic that teenagers would actually put their phones down and interact with each other.”—Judd King
This concept is so exciting to me as a mom! I don’t have teenagers yet, but seeing my 4, 8, and 10 year old excited about something other than games or headlines on their devices has me giddy! It’s designed for ages 8 and up, so my older two really get into it, but my 4 year old enjoys running around with them even if she doesn’t fully understand the concept of the game. It’s also glow in the dark, so it made fun a fun evening in our cul-de-sac with friends!
If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to get your kids outside, this is it! They have other games too including, Capture the Flag Redlux, Glow Battle, and a Light Up Sword Game. All of them (including Wizards and Werewolves) can be found at starluxgames.com.
